Mammoth Fire Protection Systems Inc, of Lowell MA, is a growing fire sprinkler and suppression company in the New England area. We design, fabricate, install and test all types of fire sprinkler, standpipe and suppression systems. We are currently looking to add a Salesperson/Estimator to our staff in an effort to expand our company.

Job Duties and responsibilities:

• Locate projects to bid with previous and new contacts.
• Survey projects through bid publications.
• Attend pre-bid site meetings.
• Survey of existing building conditions for renovations.
• Review bid documents and plans.
• Assemble detailed estimates for review.
• Draft proposal or complete bid documents for submittal in a timely manner.

 Job Requirements:

• Must have a thorough knowledge of fire sprinkler industry

• Ability to interpret plans, specifications and bid documents

• Thorough understanding of building types, use and classifications

• Understanding of building codes as they apply to classification and occupancies

• Ability to generate prices for design build projects.

• Understanding of all applicable NFPA Standards

• Ability to perform fire sprinkler system layout for cost estimating purposes

 Necessary Skills:

• Oral and written communication skills.

• Math aptitude pertinent to industry

• Knowledge of job cost factors.

• Knowledge of industry labor factors

• Negotiating skills

• NICET LEVEL II certification within 1 year

 Salary will be based on experience.

Job: Fire Sprinkler Design Technician   Posted:  11/04/09

• Read, interpret and apply technical design requirements of fire protection codes and standards (such as NFPA 13, 14, 20, 24, etc.), building codes , fire codes, insurer criteria, and other technical design documents.

• Read and interpret building construction documents such as drawings, specifications and other contract documents.

• Prepare f ire protection shop drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, and computer hydraulic calculations as needed for compliance with applicable fire protection codes, standards and contract documents.

• Prepare equipment stock lists and fabrication lists for fabrication of fire protection piping and hangers.

• Survey existing buildings for accurate, economical installation of fire protection systems.

• Coordinate activities with project manager.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
